Sugawara debuted in Nihei Pro Wrestling in 2000; trained in karate, Sugawara applied his martial arts skills in pro wrestling. Iori Sugawara promotes shows and runs a wrestling school under the “Resistance of the Crossbones” banner. In October 2008 one of his trainees passed away due to a fatal injury suffered during a training session and Sugawara has not been active since this tragic death.
