A U-File camp member with a shoot-fighting background, Moriyama debuted in 2003. A lumbar disc hernia forced him to stay out of action for a year and a half between 2006 and 2007. In the meantime he worked as a referee in the shoot-sighting promotion called DEEP. Moriyama made his comeback in pro-wrestling in FUTEN in October 2007.
