A former volleyball player, Hiroshi Nagao joined the New Japan Dojo in April of 2002. His debut, initially scheduled in early 2003, had to be postponed 2 times due to injuries. Nagao would eventually start wrestling regularly in NJPW opening and midcard matches in 2005, but despite his promising height (6’5”) for a heavyweight spot, he left the promotion in January 2006.

In February of the same year, Nagao debuted in HUSTLE as Giant Vabo, a member of the Takada Monster Army, a character inspired to the previous Nagao’s volleyball experience. In 2008 Giant Vabo was expelled from the Monster Army and Nagao changed his character and ring name to Nagao Ginga and started using a completely different acrobatic and lucha-inspired wrestling style, teaming up with the gymnast Ginga Iketani. Nagao retired from pro-wrestling in October of 2008 due to personal reasons.
